April is Parkinson’s Disease awareness month so we’ve teamed with Team Fox NOLA to not just raise awareness, but also help find a cure.
In 2000, Michael J. Fox officially retired from acting and began focusing on The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF). The New York Times has called it "the most credible voice on Parkinson's research in the world." Today the largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's drug development in the world, the Foundation has galvanized the search for a cure for Parkinson's disease, and Michael is widely admired for his tireless work as a patient advocate.
The New Orleans chapter, Team Fox NOLA, was founded in October 2016 to raise funds for the MJFF to help reach the ultimate goal of finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease. Being less than a year old,Team Fox NOLA has already hosted a number of fundraising events with even more to come. You can stay current with ways to get involved by following them on their social profiles linked below. In addition to fundraising they engage the local Parkinson's community by serving as longterm ambassadors the MJFF.
Their hope is that within five years their organization would have already met its goal in having found a cure. If not that, then they aim to be a major contributor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation and to be a pillar of the New Orleans Parkinson's community. Help the campaign and buy a shirt, every time you wear it you’ll be spreading awareness. Don’t forget to share with your friends and family!
