New Orleans Gifts Under $30 (Picked by a Local Shop)

You can find good New Orleans gifts under $30 without falling back on plastic beads or a rubber alligator head. Pick something useful with a local joke built in, like a koozie, a tea towel, a candle or an ornament, and it'll get kept long after the wrapping paper's gone.

We've been helping people stretch a gift budget behind the counter on Magazine Street and Chartres Street for twenty years. These are the small things we'd hand you if you walked in and said, "I've got a long list and a short budget."

One quick note: the prices below were checked against our store on October 19, 2026. Prices can change, so the number on the product page is the one that counts.

New Orleans Gifts Under $10

This is the "I forgot about the office gift swap" tier, and there's no shame in it.

The Heads or Tails Crawfish Coin ($5) is a heavy gold coin for settling arguments the Louisiana way. Who's peeling and who's pouring. It fits in a card.

The NOLA X Koozie ($4) costs less than the drink you'll put in it. Buy a handful for the tailgate crew. If your people are more spring than fall, The Last Boil Koozie ($8.50) recasts a famous dinner around a pile of crawfish. Our guide to the backyard crawfish boil explains why that's funny.

The Where Y'at? Patch ($6) goes on a jacket or a backpack and answers the question before anybody asks it.

New Orleans Gifts From $10 to $20

The sweet spot. Most of what people actually keep lives here.

For directions people: the River. Lake. Keychain ($12). Nobody here gives directions in north and south, and this goes on the keyring so they don't forget.

For the kitchen: the Po'Boy Patent Tea Towel ($12) lays out the city's sandwich like a filing at the patent office. The real history is in our local's guide to po-boys, and 64 Parishes traces the name to a 1929 streetcar strike.

For the tree: the Happy Almost Mardi Gras Ornament ($14), which gets how the city really feels about December. Christmas is nice. Carnival is coming.

For the porch: The Fairgrounds Go-Cup ($15), a 16-ounce silicone pint for walking a drink from the kitchen to the stoop. It won't break when somebody drops it on the neutral ground, either. We have feelings about the go-cup.

For game night: New Orleans Playing Cards ($16), with a piece of local culture on every suit.

For anybody with a nose: the Coffee & Beignet Candle ($18), which burns for around 40 to 50 hours and smells like a Saturday morning.

If your whole list lives in this range, our gifts under $20 collection is built for it.

New Orleans Gifts From $20 to $30

Still under $30, and these feel like a real present when they come out of the box.

The Shrimp Po'Boy Ornament ($22) is a po-boy hanging on a branch. Every year someone in the family will claim it.

The Makin' Groceries Tote Bag ($22) is for the person who still says "make groceries" and means it. We wrote about where the phrase lives in our piece on Schwegmann's.

For the kid, In That Number Kids ($22) comes in sizes from newborn onesies through youth. For the Saints fan, Black & Gold Fleur de Lis Socks by Bonfolk ($22) are a sneaky good gift, and Bonfolk donates a pair for every pair sold, according to the brand.

And The Po'Boy Patent Print starts at $25 for the smallest size. It's the gift that ends up framed over somebody's stove.

You'll notice there aren't shirts on this list. Our standard adult tees run $30, so they miss "under $30" by exactly nothing. If you can stretch, start with our shirts.

Mail It Early

If any of this is leaving town, the U.S. Postal Service's recommended 2026 holiday mailing dates for the lower 48 are December 17 for Ground Advantage and December 18 for Priority Mail. Small, flat gifts like the coin and the cards are the easiest to ship.

Or come see us in person on Magazine Street or Chartres Street. We're good at this part.
