Located in the heart of New Orleans’ famed French Quarter, Pat O'Brien's is an iconic bar and restaurant with a rich history. Founded in 1933, it has become one of the city’s favorite spots for entertainment and hospitality over the decades - drawing locals and tourists alike to its famous courtyard for good times and great drinks!
The story (and legend!) of Pat O'Brien's begins back during World War II when liquor was hard to come by throughout New Orleans. In order to keep his business alive, founder Pat O'Brien created a signature cocktail made from rum, passion fruit syrup, and lime juice – which he called The Hurricane. The drink became an instant hit due to its unique flavor profile - helping to save his bar from certain doom!
Today, patrons can still enjoy Hurricanes at Pat O'Briens while they explore the many offerings available. From all-American favorites like hamburgers, sandwiches and salads – to specialties like alligator gumbo or jambalaya – there’s something for everyone on the menu. And don’t forget about their world-famous dueling pianos show!
