“Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America” -Congressman John Lewis.

Inspired by protest signs from The Civil Rights Movement, this shirt features sentiments from Congressman John Lewis' speech at the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama recounting the events of Bloody Sunday. Continue voting, speaking truth to power, and believing that anyone can make a difference, always.

This shirt donates to the André Cailloux Center for Performing Arts and Cultural Justice. Founded in 2022, The ACC is a nonprofit cultural institution based in the 110 year old, former Saint Rose de Lima Church on historic Bayou Road in the 7th Ward of New Orleans. They exist to reclaim space and narrative for their communities through powerful performance, cultural programming, and intergenerational storytelling.

Named for Captain André Cailloux—a Black Civil War freedom fighter whose extraordinary courage continues to inspire—the ACC honors his legacy by creating space where art meets justice. Everything they do is rooted in the core values of reclamation, remembrance, and belonging. As a young nonprofit, the ACC stands at the front lines of confronting cultural erasure and physical displacement. They work to preserve what so many forces have tried to erase: the legacy, brilliance, and truth of the people told in their own voices. Whether through original theater productions, youth arts programs, or neighborhood-centered events, they use storytelling as the most powerful tool of resistance, healing, and restoration.
